We often talk about making sure our ageing adults have access to basic needs; a home, food, heating, lighting, transport and healthcare. We all need these things but without having good mental and physical wellbeing and happiness in our lives surely we’re all just existing. We need more to truly thrive, no matter our age.

We support community groups all over the UK with grants to fund activities that support well-being or programmes to reduce and/or prevent isolation and loneliness.

“Thank you for filling the black hole.”
  • More people are living longer
  • The likelihood of being very unwell, or being disabled increases with age.
  • We are all living longer so can expect to spend a lot of time not feeling well and needing support

Loneliness can create physical health problems.

  • Loneliness increases the risk of dementia.
  • Loneliness increases the risk of cardio-vascular disease.
  • 60% of people in care homes have a mental health condition.
£1 invested in tackling loneliness can save £3 in health costs.

Please help us to reach more lonely and isolated ageing adults by making a donation or getting involved in our events and activities.
