Home Instead Senior Care Bring Joy Foundation has launched a new campaign, Keep Busy, Keep Active, to support seniors socially isolated over the next few weeks. This fundraising campaign has been launched to raise money to distribute to local community groups and HISC local offices to buy books, crosswords, sudoku, craft materials, audible books and other home activity products to help seniors stave off boredom and keep them occupied, mentally busy and active. In addition there are funds available for those seniors that may face extra challenges through illness or disability. Bring Joy will fund communication tools and assistive technology to keep these vulnerable seniors safe, well and connected.
We have a limited number of Facebook portals to give away to combat loneliness in this challenging time. If you know a senior over the age of 70 who would benefit from one of these devices please click on the APPLY button above for more information.
By donating to the ‘Keep Busy, Keep Active’ campaign, you will be helping to support seniors digitally, in a time where the usual methods of fundraising, such as bake sales and events, aren’t an option.
Please visit; justgiving.com/campaign/HomeIsolation to donate.
As little as £5 will buy a crossword book, £10 will buy a colouring book and pens and £20 will buy a knitting starter kit.
If you are a local community group that has had to suspend your meeting but still want to support your seniors, please click the apply button at the top of our page for details on how you can apply for funding. We are able to provide you with online vouchers so you can order online for direct delivery during this period of lockdown.
